Won't finalise downloads

Description

I have Firefox Version 2.0.0.1 running. I installed the latest version of DTA from your site yesterday. It downloaded 4-5 files perfectly. Now it won't complete the downloads. It gets to "Joining" or "100%" and just sits there doing nothing. I can't pause or resume the download, and there is no file in the target directory. It has done this to the last 3 files I have tried to download. It takes 2 hours to download, then this happens. Most frustrating.

Unfinished business. How to assemble into whole files?

I too have been experiencing this same frustration. I really like this program when it works but having to retry 3 or 4 times to get it to create a file in the target directory is very annoying!!!! It has plaqued all versions I have tried. It seems to be worse in this last release. Gets to 100% and just hangs there. No options other than "Remove from list"

  • owner changed.
  • os changed from All to Windows.
  • version changed from --- to 0.9.9.9.
  • component changed from --- to Downloads.

I am having this issue as well. I'm on version 0.9.9.9 on Firefox 2.0.0.3, Running on Windows XP Home x86 version (sorry, I know it's a garbage platform but have to have it for work). I've tried disabling other addons (the most relevant are downloads in tab, and download statusbar) but no joy.

Other possibly relevant information: I am running a dual core processor, E6600, and all windows updates are current. The incomplete downloads finish at 100%, file size matches or is close to it, but est time either shows 0.01 or unavailable. It does NOT flick to "joining" and the file is never moved to the final directory. I have now enabled logging and will have a file for you if you want it.

Thank you Crystal

Should be fixed on trunk, which includes a new architecture featuring a lot of stability and error recovery improvements.

I'm running DTA .9.9.10 on Firefox 2.0.0.4 on Vista and I too have this problem. It says 100% but stops with 1 second remaining and will not complete.

I'm running the beta which I got off the front page and I am experiencing this problem. I had about 250 downloads added to the list (each approx 30kb). I've got about 56 left which say 100% but have an estimated time of either a few seconds or "Starting". According to the size parameter it's complete.

Cancel, Pause, Start are all disabled and I can't close the window.

As a note, to "fix" this problem, I ended the firefox from the Task manager, and when I reopened the manager it completed all the downloads that were previously stuck.

Then, at least, the recovery part works. I'm not sure why this could happen at all, so I appreciate it if you filled another bug + DiagnosticLog. (This bug is about something else; the codebase totally changed between 0.9 and 1.0b1)

Not for me - dta 9.9.9.10; Firefox 2.0.0.7; WinXp?. I'm on dial up and I download big files overnight closing the Firefox window and leaving just the dta window open. I used the task manager to close down the 'stalled dta' - 100% with 0.02 to go and a blank download speed field - and when I reopened it the two stalled files were gone, but two others that I had previously deleted before starting downloading had returned.

I'm having same problem. When it reachs 100% of the download, there is a message "server error" Only happens with files larger that 1 GB. No problem with smaller files that 1 GB. I have downloaded ISOS files several times...for nothing, although the speed is really nice, but is giving this problem as soon get the 100%. I'm running the Beta version, but is happening with the stable version. This is not fixed with the 1.0 version...

I have 15.7 Gb worth of unfinalized "dtatempfile"s. I'd love to stich them together (or at least extract the original path and filename to download it again). Is there any way to feed these files to DTA for it to finish the job? Or a program to join the files? All the data is already there (it allways stalls when it's done downloading). I've set download parts to 1 (dissabled). Will that prevent this from happening?

Thanks, Bugger

"99%" 17.07MB/17.07MB was stuck on downloading with 0.01 seconds left. I paused it in vain hopes of it working. Nope. Did not work.

The only thing weird I did was up chuck and remove chunk.

Yes, this is a clean install with only DTA on, I use this profile for downloading from my dial-up connection.

A way to force end downloads (merge what you have) would be nice. :|
