Naming of part files is just stupid

Description

I've just spent a long time using dTa to get some cab files for Vanguard SoH. After 4 Gb (2 cab files) has completed I check the final location only to find that the files aren't there.

I then check the temp location for downloading partfiles, I have 4 gig of part files which between them comprise 2 complete cab files - but how can I tell which part files belong to which cab file - there is no pattern in the naming of the part files.

Can I suggest that you include the original name in the part files? Something like dtatempfile-for-<filename>-###########.part# - this way it would be trivial to take all the part files that belong to one final file and recreate the final file.

Since I've wasted the better part of 2 days waiting for my download to complete, you can imagine exactly what I think of you right now - the part file rename is something so trivial I hope it makes it into the next point release.

Good God. How obvious is this one? I had 4 LARGE downloads in progress - they got to 100%, but the join didn't take place. Nothing. Nada. No button to resume and no way to build them after the fact. Absolute shiite. Can't do anything but trash the part files that would have made complete downloads if I could put them together.

Perhaps if we used a recognizable naming scheme (even a hash) then the app could recover in case of an error? At a download's inception, check the temporary directory for existing part files that belong to that download? Then rebuild what you can and fill in the blanks?

How about a button which allows the user to select a number of part files and joins them to the final file.

I too have lost 600mb + files when the join has failed. a option to 'recover these would be great'

The temp file will now reflect the name.
